How to Make a Rental Studio Feel Like Your Own Branded Set
Your colors, your details, your show. A closer look at making the space feel like you.

One of the things I love about Sky House is that you can walk into the same room and make it feel like your studio.
You might love the space exactly as it is. Or you might bring in your own pillows, put your logo on the television, change the lighting color, and give it a completely different personality.
That flexibility is a big part of why we built the space the way we did. At our content creation studio in Cranford, New Jersey, the question we want to work through with you is simple: how can this space fit your brand?
Start with a neutral space

I describe the feeling of Sky House as a little heavenly, a little Renaissance. There’s a softness to it. Some people come in, see that neutral aesthetic, and want to leave it just like that.
You can do that.
The neutral foundation also gives different brands, personalities, and company cultures room to fit into the space. Then we can move things around and talk through what would make the set feel more like you.
Bring in the details that belong to your show
Think about the things you’d want someone to see in the frame.
Maybe it’s a jersey. A painting. A statue. A branded cup sitting on the table. You can bring in pillows or a tablecloth, put your branding on the television, or discuss where a product from a brand partnership could sit.
These are all things we can talk through when you tour.
You don’t have to dress up every corner of the room. Start with the details that mean something to your brand, then look at how they work together on camera. Your logo might be enough. Or there might be a whole look you want to explore.
Use lighting to shape the look

Lighting color is another part of making the space your own. You can talk with us about colors that fit your branding and the feeling you want in the room.
A useful way to plan it is to bring your brand colors and a few visual references. We can look at those together and figure out how to use the lighting alongside the furniture, backdrop, and anything you’re bringing onto set.
What matters is how it all looks in the frame with you in it.
Walk through the setup before the session
During a tour, we can do a run of show and talk through how you want to use the space. That’s where we figure out what belongs where and what you want the studio to look like for your recording.
Once we’ve worked that out, we take visual documentation and keep notes about your setup.
I like having that reference because “this is how I like my studio” becomes something the team can see. It helps us understand the look you want to come back to.
Think beyond the podcast
This is why I describe Sky House as a content creation facility. We can use the space for podcasts, ads, mock interviews, and video sales letters. The arrangement should support what you’re creating.
You have the option to keep the calm, neutral setting or bring more of your own personality into it. The beauty is having that choice.
